As part of their Language and Literature class, our 9th Grade students attended a conference led by LCC Jorge Elí Casas Camarillo, a specialist in Advertising and Media Production, and a member of the IABC teaching community.
Drawing from his professional experience, he introduced students to the key elements of effective advertising and helped them analyze how advertising messages influence consumers through both linguistic and visual techniques.
To apply their learning, students created promotional posters for a variety of unusual products, including dehydrated water cubes, bottled Monterrey air, portable silence, math homework-flavored gum, finished-homework perfume, fish umbrellas, cactus combs, and more.

Some of our 7th grade students recently connected with students from Thomas Carr Howe Middle School through a virtual exchange!
They shared their daily routines through Padlet presentations, explored similarities and differences, and continued the conversation during a live video call by answering questions and learning from each other.
Experiences like this foster global awareness, communication skills, and empathy—helping our students understand that while we may live in different parts of the world, we share many common experiences.
