At IAB Cumbres, our maintenance, security, and cleaning teams were honored with Christmas baskets prepared with contributions from the IAB community and thoughtfully organized by our sixth grade students. Their daily dedication and behind-the-scenes work make it possible for learning, growth, and school life to happen smoothly in our hallways. This gesture was a small way to recognize and thank those who make the magic happen every day.

At IAB Cumbres, our Formative and Sports Academies Open Classes gave students from all academies the opportunity to share with their parents what they have achieved throughout the semester. Through an exhibition of skills, families experienced firsthand the progress, effort, and learning that have taken place, strengthening the connection between students, their work, and our community. A special thanks to all the coaches, teachers, and coordinators Mayra de León, Edwin Treviño, and Frank Medrano for their dedication, guidance, and commitment to our students’ growth throughout the semester.
Collaborative work between the staff of our La Fe and Cumbres campuses continues to strengthen our educational community. Through ongoing International Baccalaureate (IB) training sessions, our teams are preparing with purpose and commitment for the upcoming IB evaluation visit, always focused on what matters most: our students.
This shared effort reflects our dedication to growth, alignment, and excellence across both campuses.

This year, MYP students took the stage with A Winter’s Tale, under the direction of Teacher Craig Stedman and the musical direction of Jairo Cortés. The festival featured two adaptations, The Snow Queen and The Nutcracker and the King Mouse, with 8th and 9th grade students leading the theatrical performances and 6th and 7th grade students presenting the dance numbers. The MYP Choir joined the opening with All I Want for Christmas, making the festival a truly memorable winter story.

Elementary families enjoyed A Christmas Adventure, as students from 1st to 5th grade explored the many sights and surprises that make Christmas so special. The festival opened with Put the Happy in the Holidays, performed by teachers Josue Hdz, Jairo Cortés, Fernando Gómez, Sofía Segura, along with the Elementary Chorus, setting the tone for a joyful and dynamic performance.

The stage glowed with festive spirit as Preschool students from Nursery to Kinder 3 presented The Magic of Christmas Lights. Surrounded by sparkle, holiday music, and cheerful movements, they danced with excitement, filling the performance with all the warmth and wonder of Christmas. Bells, lights, and joyful rhythms created a magical atmosphere, ending with a special closing song where everyone joined together to celebrate the season.

The Christmas spirit filled IAB Cumbres during a festive celebration that brought our community together. Students enjoyed a joyful day filled with holiday treats, piñatas, and fun activities, while a special visit from Santa Claus added to the excitement. Teachers and staff joined in the celebration, creating moments of connection, laughter, and shared joy throughout the campus.
This gathering was a meaningful way to come together and close this time of learning and growth, celebrating not only the season but also the strong sense of community that defines IAB Cumbres.
Happy Holidays. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.

Our Magic Christmas Movie Night at IAB Cumbres brought our community together for an evening full of Christmas spirit. Families gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere with Christmas lights, Santa’s visit, and seasonal snacks as our community enjoyed the movie together. The moment reminded us that magic can be found in being together, embracing the moment, and sharing smiles. Surrounded by the glow of our campus and our community, we experienced a magical Christmas moment together.
Our MYP students, all registered members of the MUN Academy, recently participated in the Secretariat Selection Process for the upcoming in-house Model United Nations at IAB Cumbres. Throughout this process, students demonstrated a high level of commitment and engagement, preparing and delivering short speeches to the MUN Board that reflected their leadership potential, communication skills, and readiness to assume responsibilities within the Secretariat, which will be the team responsible for the organization and leadership of the event.
This experience provided students with an authentic opportunity to step forward with confidence, articulate their ideas, and take an active role in the organization of the conference. Following the selection process, letters of appointment were delivered to formally announce the Secretariat, marking an important milestone in their leadership journey. We are proud of our students for embracing this meaningful experience, which strengthens their voice, sense of responsibility, and leadership within our school community.

Curiosity and global learning took center stage last month as our 6th–8th grade MYP students presented an immersive exhibition inspired by Europe, Asia, and Africa. Families explored interactive displays, enjoyed cultural presentations, and even tasted typical dishes prepared for the event.
Their dedication and creativity made this “journey around the world” a meaningful experience for everyone who attended.

Families from Elementary also enjoyed a special moment last month as students presented their Cultural Week Exhibitions. Each grade researched and explored a different country—Morocco, Italy, Greece, Norway, and Canada—and shared what they learned through creative projects and presentations.
Their confidence, teamwork, and excitement for discovering new cultures truly stood out. Thank you for joining us and supporting their learning.

Last month, our youngest learners from Nursery to Kinder 3 opened their classrooms to families for our Preschool Cultural Week Exhibitions. Parents had the chance to see what their children inquired about, explored, and created while learning about Japan, New Zealand, Kenya, Australia, and India.
It was a joyful moment to watch our little explorers share their discoveries, projects, and growing curiosity about the world. Thank you, families, for being part of their learning journey.

Our incredible dance team poured their hearts into the stage—and the results say it all. We are thrilled to share that they earned First Place in both the Preschool and the Elementary–Middle School categories, showcasing talent, discipline, and a vibrant energy that lit up the entire venue.
But that wasn’t all…
They also received the Special Award for Best Production of the Event, standing out for their costumes, staging, and overall performance, which captivated everyone in attendance.
We couldn’t be prouder of each of our dancers, who represented our school with passion, dedication, and contagious joy. Their effort shone through every movement.
We extend a very special thank-you to their coach, Miss Karen Treviño, for her dedication, guidance, and preparation leading up to this event.
And of course, our gratitude to all the families who joined us. Your enthusiasm, support, and constant encouragement made this day truly unforgettable.

We shared a small token of appreciation with the K3 to 9th-grade students who actively participated in our Tutor Program, which is led by the Psychology Department at IAB Cumbres.
During the first weeks of school, they stayed close to our new students: guiding them around campus, supporting them through their first moments, answering their questions, and—above all—helping them feel confident and part of our community from day one.
Thank you for your time, empathy, and for giving other students a warmer, lighter, and more supported start to the school year. Your contribution truly made a difference.

As part of our ongoing commitment to support our staff with the tools needed to deliver a strong International Baccalaureate experience, members of our team participated in the official IBAMEX training held in Mexico City this past October. This opportunity strengthens teaching practices and directly benefits student learning.
We were proudly represented by Ms. Yaneth Leos, Ms. Cynthia García, Ms. Mariana Peña, and Ms. Ana Lorena Robles, who continue to expand their knowledge within the IB framework.
We remain committed to fostering continuous growth and excellence for our teachers, our students, and our school community.

Last Thursday, October 30th, our students filled IAB Cumbres with color, creativity, and tradition during Catrinas’ Costume Day.
Dressed as elegant catrinas and catrines, they honored one of Mexico’s most emblematic traditions — Día de Muertos — celebrating life, remembrance, and cultural pride. Through their costumes, makeup, and joy, our students kept alive the spirit of this beautiful tradition that unites us as a community.

The 9th-grade students at IAB Cumbres thoughtfully put together this year’s Altar de Muertos, dedicated to Kobe Bryant. With contributions from our entire community, the altar became a meaningful space to honor life and remember those who continue to inspire us.
Students presented the altar to their parents with a heartfelt performance, accompanied by the school’s orchestra playing La Llorona. Later, students from all grades visited the altar, where 9th graders shared the significance of this cherished Mexican tradition.

The IAB Colors of the Soul Run filled our community with joy, energy, and a strong sense of togetherness. Families, students, and teachers from both IAB Cumbres and IAB La Fe came together to run, cheer, and celebrate our shared spirit. The event featured impressive presentations from both campuses, catrinas and catrines adding a festive touch, and face painting that brought even more color to the day. This year’s run was especially meaningful as we marked 10 years of IAB Cumbres—ten years of growth, learning, and unity that made moments like this possible. It was a beautiful morning of sportsmanship, connection, and pride in being part of one IAB family.

At IAB Cumbres, Cultural Week is much more than a celebration. It’s a time for students to learn, connect, and appreciate the richness of different cultures. Through African dance classes, musical, theatrical, and sensory performances, they explored new ways of understanding the world around them. We continue to create enriching experiences that nurture curiosity and meaningful learning.
