Last Friday, March 21, our 6th-grade students had the opportunity to learn from two incredible guest speakers, both parents and members of the IAB Cumbres community. Iván Venzor took them on an exciting journey through science and the solar system, sparking curiosity about the universe and expanding their understanding of space. Daniela Escobedo guided them through the importance of emotional self-regulation, helping them develop essential skills for managing their emotions and well-being. We appreciate both speakers for sharing their knowledge and inspiring our students.

Today at IAB Cumbres, all grades took part in a fun Scavenger Hunt to celebrate the arrival of spring! Students enjoyed searching for hidden eggs, embracing the season of renewal and excitement. A great way to bring the school community together while welcoming the new season!

We are thrilled to share the great success of our Parkour academy at the recent Spring Gymmex competition. Our students demonstrated exceptional performance and achieved outstanding results.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Coach César Aguilar, who, with his dedication, commitment, and experience, prepared our students for this sporting event. His leadership and guidance were key to the success we achieved.
In the Speed Run Initiation category, our team took 3rd place, and in the Speed Run Progressive category, they earned 2nd place, both in team competitions.
We also want to thank the students and their parents for their support and commitment to our academy.

During our Accepting Our Differences Week, we had the honor of hosting a Mental Health Forum moderated by Lic. Monica Acosta from Humind, where three wonderful mothers from our IAB Cumbres community—Myrna Paulina, Rocío Cavazos, and Carlota Martínez—shared their personal stories.
Their openness helped raise awareness about mental health and emphasized the importance of inclusion both within families and communities. This inspiring session was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from embracing mental health as part of our journey toward inclusion.

As part of Accepting Our Differences Week, we were honored to have incredible guest speakers who shared their knowledge and life-changing experiences.
Laura Martínez, Head of the Specific Needs Department, delivered a talk on Neurodiversity to our 4th to 9th-grade students.
Abril Olivares , a mother of a child with Down syndrome and autism, delivered an impactful talk on inclusivity in the family.
Cordelia Weigend , who has cerebral palsy, along with her brother, spoke to our 6th and 7th-grade students, inspiring them to embrace differences.
Grupo Limitless and Katia Cantú led an insightful discussion on fostering inclusion, followed by challenging activities in which 8th and 9th graders simulated having disabilities.
Additionally, the Tigres Amputados team gave an inspiring talk to our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and played a quick match with them, showcasing resilience and perseverance.

Another remarkable experience during Accepting Our Differences Week was our Human Library event. Students and parents had the unique opportunity to listen to six powerful individuals share their personal stories on mental health, disabilities, and neurodiversity.
Laura Pérez, Mónica Villarreal, Mauricio García, Anny Rodríguez, Myrna Morales, and Caroline Ramon were the "books," offering raw and honest perspectives that challenged stereotypes and promoted empathy. Their stories served as a beautiful reminder of the diversity and richness of the human experience.

Throughout the week, our students engaged in various activities led by the Psychology Department, with Fabiola Villarreal and Laura Martínez, alongside 8th-grade students, focusing on inclusion and empathy. In these sessions, elementary students participated in activities that helped them experience what it’s like to live with a disability, fostering understanding and compassion.
Preschool students also enjoyed interactive storytelling about inclusion, further spreading the values of empathy, respect, and kindness. These hands-on experiences were an enriching part of our Accepting Our Differences Week and strengthened the bond within our IAB Cumbres community.
