Last Thursday, our IAB Cumbres students from Nursery 1 through 5th grade enjoyed an unforgettable Children’s Day filled with fun, music, color, games, and activities specially planned for them.

Our teachers had everyone laughing and cheering during the super fun mascot race, while our Preschool parents surprised the students with an exciting talent show that made the celebration even more memorable.

We ended the day with an incredible Color Party where everyone danced, played, and simply let go while celebrating together. A joyful celebration that reminded us of the importance of keeping the child within each of us alive.

Also as part of “Accepting Our Differences Week 2026,” our students participated in various conferences and activities that promoted reflection and a deeper understanding of diversity. We welcomed paralympic athlete Norberto Zertuche, who shared his story and led activities with 8th and 9th grade students, creating a meaningful learning experience.

Likewise, the BLINDados team introduced 6th and 7th grade students to the experience of adapted soccer for people with visual disabilities through a talk and hands-on activities that allowed them to better understand this sport.

Throughout the week, Monitor Teachers and 8th grade students visited different classrooms to share talks and activities about neurodivergence, fostering understanding, respect, and openness within our school community.

During our “Accepting Our Differences Week 2026,” we created spaces to reflect, engage in dialogue, and learn together, recognizing that our similarities unite us and our differences enrich us as a community.

As part of this week, the Inclusion Forum “Dialogues to Understand: Diversity, Family, and Mental Health” was held, where Lic. Liliana Taboada, Dr. Ernesto Márquez, and Lic. Alessandra Vázquez shared their knowledge with parents and students, fostering a close, meaningful, and enriching conversation.

We also experienced the Human Library initiative, in which different “human books” shared their stories, experiences, and perspectives, giving us the opportunity to listen, understand, and strengthen a more empathetic and inclusive outlook within our community.

Our students from the MUN Academy—Karol Méndez, Isabela Ramírez, Victoria Garduño, Pablo Pagaza, Sara Casanova, Rebeca Guzmán, and Jorge Oziel Rodríguez—along with Teacher Frank Medrano, are currently in New York City participating in GCIMUN.

This experience represents a journey where ideas become leadership, voices help shape the future, and learning goes far beyond the classroom. We are proud to see them representing our community on an international stage and continuing to grow as global citizens. We remain committed to shaping young individuals who transform ideas into leadership.

Fourth-grade students from IAB Cumbres recently visited the Tecnológico de Monterrey after receiving an invitation from the university’s Educational Investment Department as part of the Borregos desde Pequeños program.

The purpose of the visit was for students to experience what it is like to be part of the Tec community. During their time on campus, they toured the facilities, observed some of the animals that roam around the grounds, and participated in hands-on workshops designed to give them a real student experience. These included Architecture, where students built a park using LEGO under specific guidelines; Law, where they acted as judges for a day; and Medicine, where they learned about basic first aid.

Students also enjoyed breakfast, received prizes such as keychains and “lawyer” medals, and had the opportunity to spend time with the university’s mascot, making it a fun and enriching experience that brought them closer to the Tec spirit.

The fourth edition of “Amor Propio, Amor Familiar: Nutriendo el corazón y la mente” concluded this past Wednesday, leaving a meaningful impact on the families who were part of this experience. Guided by Julia Bautista and Fabiola Villarreal, participants explored the principles of Conscious Discipline and discovered practical ways to strengthen their emotional connection and self-awareness at home. Each session opened space for honest reflection and deeper understanding, allowing families to reconnect with what truly matters and carry that intention into their daily lives.

This week, our 8th grade and Kinder 2 students took the stage in two very special assemblies. 8th grade commemorated the birth anniversary of Benito Juárez and the arrival of spring with engaging performances, creative presentations, and a dance that truly delighted parents. Kinder 2 celebrated spring and Women’s Day with a heartfelt song dedicated to all moms, creating a sweet and meaningful moment on stage.

During the assemblies, we also recognized and celebrated our Elementary and Preschool dance teams for their outstanding participation in the OJD Evolution dance competition, where they earned first place in their respective categories—congratulations! During the Kinder 2 assembly, both teams had the opportunity to perform their winning routines in front of their classmates and parents, making the moment even more special.

Last week, K3 parents took part in the Parents Workshop “Building Confident Readers and Writers,” led by Lic. Anafernanda Canales along with K3 homeroom teachers Melissa Olivares, Karen Rosales, and Erika Álvarez.

During the session, families experienced firsthand how their children learn in the classroom, gaining a deeper understanding of their reading and writing journey at this important stage. They also explored practical ideas and strategies to continue supporting this process at home, strengthening their confidence and nurturing their interest in language.

At IAB Cumbres, we value these meaningful learning spaces that bring families and educators together to support each child’s development.

As part of our School for Parents program, the talk “Screens and Their Impact on Child and Adolescent Development” was presented last week by Lic. Mónica Villarreal, an expert on the topic.

Families received clear, evidence-based insights on how screen use influences sleep, behavior, attention, learning, and emotional regulation, along with practical strategies to help establish healthier digital habits at home.

At IAB Cumbres, we are committed to equipping parents with meaningful tools and guidance that support their children’s wellbeing and development both at school and at home.
