The IAB Colors of the Soul Run filled our community with joy, energy, and a strong sense of togetherness. Families, students, and teachers from both IAB Cumbres and IAB La Fe came together to run, cheer, and celebrate our shared spirit. The event featured impressive presentations from both campuses, catrinas and catrines adding a festive touch, and face painting that brought even more color to the day. This year’s run was especially meaningful as we marked 10 years of IAB Cumbres—ten years of growth, learning, and unity that made moments like this possible. It was a beautiful morning of sportsmanship, connection, and pride in being part of one IAB family.

At IAB Cumbres, Cultural Week is much more than a celebration. It’s a time for students to learn, connect, and appreciate the richness of different cultures. Through African dance classes, musical, theatrical, and sensory performances, they explored new ways of understanding the world around them. We continue to create enriching experiences that nurture curiosity and meaningful learning.

Throughout this week, our students brought their Cultural Week discoveries to life through fun art workshops. Painting, crafting, and other hands-on activities allowed them to explore different countries in imaginative ways, nurturing their curiosity and love for learning about the world.
Some workshops were led by IAB parents, who also joined with talks to share their knowledge and experiences about the countries studied, giving students an even deeper understanding and connection to the cultures they explored.

This Monday, we kicked off Cultural Week 2025: Voices of the World, a celebration of courage, culture, and connection that encourages appreciation and respect for diverse cultures. Our opening show featured pre-Hispanic dance and Catrinas welcoming our students — vibrant tributes to Mexican heritage. The flag parade highlighted cultural facts about the countries our students are exploring, promoting global awareness and curiosity about the world around us.

Last week, our MYP IV students visited Prepa UDEM, where they had the opportunity to explore the campus, attend a sample class, and experience what it’s like to be a high school student.
They also continued their journey at Prepa Tec, enjoying another exciting day of learning, exploration, and inspiration for the next stage of their academic path.
We are proud to see our students getting a glimpse of the future and preparing to make informed choices for what’s ahead!

The third edition of “Amor Propio, Amor Familiar: Nutriendo el corazón y la mente” has begun, with 25 families joining this meaningful journey of reflection and growth. This workshop, led by Julia Bautista and Fabiola Villarreal, will guide participants through the principles of Conscious Discipline, helping them discover ways to strengthen emotional connection, deepen self-awareness, and bring more empathy and calm into everyday family life. Today, and over the next sessions, families will engage in activities and reflections that support these skills.

With heartfelt solidarity, the contributions from our community left today for Poza Rica, Veracruz, thanks to a campaign organized by the Ruiz Gutiérrez family, part of our IAB community. The food and essential supplies we received at our school will support those affected by the recent floods in the region. A big thank you to everyone who donated, showing a powerful example of empathy, generosity, and collective action in support of others.

Rebeca Guzmán Muñoz was awarded the Academic Talent Scholarship for achieving the highest average in 6th grade during the 2024–2025 school year. Her dedication and hard work set a shining example for her peers. We continue to celebrate her achievement and the inspiration it brings to our community!

Today, our community at IAB Cumbres took part in the 2025 National Drill. This exercise allowed students and staff to practice safety protocols and reinforce the importance of being prepared in case of an emergency. Safety is not just a practice—it’s a commitment we all share!
Today, we celebrated Peace Day at IAB Cumbres. Our students wore white as a symbol of unity and hope, and joined in activities and reflections that encouraged them to think about what peace means and how to nurture it in their daily lives, both within our school community and beyond.

This week, we hosted the Welcome to PYP and Welcome to MYP Talk, an important moment for our new families and 6th graders joining the MYP programme. The talk gave them a chance to learn about our school’s values, programmes, and what to expect in their journey at IAB. Following the session, each new family was introduced to their Ambassador Family, who will support them, share experiences, and guide them along the way. This program helps newcomers feel at home from day one while strengthening connections across our community.
At IAB Cumbres we celebrated Mexican Day with our students proudly wearing traditional outfits, filling the school with the colors and spirit of Mexico. It was a special occasion to come together as a community and honor our rich culture and traditions.

This week we enjoyed our Representative Parents Brunch, a special gathering with our representatives and link parents to share, connect, and learn more about their role. This brunch was also a token of appreciation for their commitment to the IAB Cumbres community. Together with all our families, they help us keep building a strong and supportive community.
Our MYP II Biology students visited the laboratory to take their learning about the properties of life a step further. After discussing how cellular organization is one of the key characteristics that defines living things, students had the chance to put theory into practice.
Using microscopes, they prepared wet mounts of red onion peel and carefully observed the cells. They also learned how to create scientific drawings of what they saw under the microscope.
This hands-on exploration sets the stage for their next steps: identifying cell organelles and comparing the structure of plant and animal cells (our next lab will focus on observing mucosal cells for that comparison).
Curiosity, observation, and discovery — key skills in action!

A new journey begins! Baby Phoenix kicked off this week with Ms. Betzy Carlos guiding our youngest learners through their first Early Stimulation sessions. Over the school year, these little ones will explore movement, language, and sensory play in a nurturing environment that helps them grow with confidence. We look forward to witnessing their milestones and to seeing them become part of our IABC community.
Today was our Open House at IAB Cumbres! Families met teachers, explored new classrooms, and got a glimpse of all the learning and fun ahead. We can’t wait to see everyone on Monday and keep building that sense of community and belonging. The 2025–2026 school year is here, and our halls are ready to be filled with laughter, energy, and the joy of learning. Go Phoenixes!

That’s a wrap on Phoenix Summer Camp 2025! We closed out the summer with “Outrageous & Outlandish,” a week full of creativity, color, and all things wild, wacky, and wonderfully weird.
Thank you to every camper who brought the energy, every family who supported us, and every staff member who gave their all to make this summer so memorable.
Enjoy the rest of your break—we can’t wait to welcome you back in just a few weeks to start an exciting new school year together!

Last week at IAB Cumbres Phoenix Summer Camp, our theme was “The Extraordinary You: Discover the superpower that makes you one of a kind.” Campers spent the days having fun, expressing themselves, and celebrating what makes them unique. From start to finish, it was a lively and upbeat week filled with creativity, confidence, and plenty of summer joy.

This week at Phoenix Summer Camp 2025, Myth, Magic and Make-Believe added a playful spark to each day as campers took on new challenges, worked on creative projects, and enjoyed plenty of outdoor fun. From team activities to hands-on exploration, the focus remained on building friendships, trying new things, and having a great time together. There was a strong sense of curiosity and collaboration in the air, and it’s been exciting to see how each camper continues to grow. With the summer in full swing, there’s still so much to look forward to—Go Phoenixes!
