Taekwondo Academy: Becoming a black belt🥋 Last week, we celebrated a milestone in the TKD Academy, two of our students met the goal of earning a red-black belt, which is the equivalent for a black belt among students under the age of 15. Both students, Sofía Gil from 3rd grade C, who has been practicing Tae Kwon Do for 4 years and a half and MYP III C Antonio Báez, who started this discipline 8 years ago, have shown good discipline during these years and have been very consistent, supporting their classmates, always showing a great willingness and humility. Congratulations to Sofía and Antonio, for such an incredible journey along with the support of their teacher Alberto Galindo!

Congrats to all the Academies students for their display of skills and knowledge in the open classes of this week! We are proud of your progress and talent. Big thanks to the Academies teachers for the preparation of their classes, to Coordinators Neri Vazquez and Daniel Bell for their organization, and to parents for your continuous support. Proud to be IAB!

Reading Club- Visit of Author
On Friday, November 10th, IAB Reading Club “Tintas en el tiempo” had a rewarding session thanks to the talk provided by the Mexican writer Hiram Ruvalcaba, author of the novel titled “Todo pueblo es cicatriz”. Issues of current significance, occurred in the past but persisting to these days in Mexican society were addressed during the session. The author made clear that the message he wants to convey through his novel is: In order to heal as a society it is necessary to be empathetic and to practice forgiveness even in cases of extreme pain and violence. We invite the school community to get to know the work of author Hiram Ruvalcaba and practice forgiveness and empathy in their daily lives.
Thank you so much for the author’s participation via online and the presence of the reading club members.

Professional Development on Autism and Neurodiversity🧠💫
Last week, our school teachers, psychopedagogy team, and leadership team participated in the Bootcamp Autismo 360, in pursuit of their professional development. The aim of the training was to explore the different ways in which we can be part of and value neurodiversity, as well as specific strategies to apply in our classroom and daily life. Eventually, the course instructors visited Cumbres campus carrying out a session of reflection and questions addressing better strategies and practices along with staff of both campuses. As a school, this represents one more step towards inclusion and care for the different needs of our students.
Proud to be IAB!

Our 9th grade students dedicated the “Altar de Muertos” to the memory of Selena Quintanilla, “the queen of tejano music”. Selena’s contribution to music and fashion made her one of the most famous Mexican-American artists in the late twentieth century. Our students presented a wonderful tribute to their parents and the school community. 🌍❤️ #UnityInDiversity #CulturalWeekRecap #ProudToBeIAB

Last week, our students embarked on an incredible journey through our cultural week 🌏✨

A special moment during this event was when our students had the opportunity to share their findings with their parents. They presented the countries they had thoroughly researched, fostering a deeper understanding of global diversity. 👨👩👧👦🌟
We are proud of the students’ enthusiasm and curiosity!
Although our cultural week has ended, let's remember that the spirit of "Unity in Diversity" should live on in our hearts every day.
